Relationship Violence Prevention Training for Professionals who work with Youth Healthy Youth Relationships (HYR)

 

Healthy Youth Relationships ¡V Adult Workshops (HYR) looks at healthy and unhealthy adolescent interpersonal relationships, focusing on awareness, communication and prevention strategies. This interactive and comprehensive training for professionals consists of one (4-hour) Healthy Youth Relationships online course plus a one-day workshop. Successful participants are then certified to deliver Healthy Youth Relationships presentations to youth.
Training
Healthy Youth Relationships (HYR) Online Course
Explores the dynamics of healthy relationships, the warning signs of unhealthy relationships, forms of assault and ecological framework for relationship violence. Prevention and intervention strategies are also shared, as well as, current law and the ramifications of relationship violence.
Relationship Violence Prevention Training
This training focuses on the Healthy Youth Relationships which includes teaching modules and supporting materials. The facilitation of the program, school action planning and practice sessions are also explored. Teaching manuals, curriculum and resources are provided.
Delivery
This delivery model allows for presentations to be adapted to timetable challenges through its modular format. In its entirety of two hours, the Healthy Youth Relationships presentation helps young people to identify:
„X Healthy dating relationships and supporting behaviours
„X Gender-based violence, homophobia, sexual harassment and inappropriate sexual behaviour
„X Indicators of an abusive interpersonal relationship
„X Legal definitions and ramifications of assault
„X Consent, protection and reporting procedures
„X Support agencies and community resources
